Mid-Summer Yoga to Rest, Relax & Renew July 7th 2.30 – 4.30pm.

Set yourself up for the week ahead.  Carve out some quality time for YOU, with no distractions.  A practice to bring awareness to body and breath, to unplug from the distractions and stimulation of everyday life.

This workshop combines the most relaxing three practices within Yoga:  Yin Yoga , Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. One practice flows into the other and the design and intention of the practice is to uplift and bring about a sense  of peace and wellness in body, mind and spirit. These are all different practices but each in their own way help us to experience letting go,  of tension, pain/ trauma and foster  a meditative state. When we combine these  practices together, well, let’s just say relaxation is pretty much guaranteed, and the feeling remains long after you leave the mat.

Physiologically this type of practice takes us out of sympathetic nervous system dominance (stress) into parasympathetic dominance (rest and digest), unless we do something to make this switch on a regular basis, we can easily become overwhelmed and exhausted. You will be carefully guided through deep slow stretching and breathing and gently encouraged to release stress on all level. In a nutshell, a practice to recharge your batteries!

Cost: €25

A Mid-Summer Yoga Day Retreat~ Sunday August 18th, 10.30am-5pm at Mornington House.

An invitation to take time out for you.  To retreat is essential to our well being.  Often it’s not until we carve out this space, that we realize how much we needed it.  This is an opportunity to move out of daily life.  To slow down and listen more deeply to yourself.

Retreating is about gifting yourself an opportunity to  have space, rest, digest our experiences, and catch up with ourselves. It can help us at any time bust especially if  we feel under-resourced and disconnected from ourselves, our inner wisdom, and our joy.

On this day  you can nourish yourself with, yoga, meditation,  journaling, food and nature.  Learn practices which can become self care tools for you to bring into your daily life. A day like this really facilitates letting go and surrendering, as someone else is taking care of your needs, this leaves space for your body and mind let go, rest and heal. You will be guided through practices to bring you into stillness, to rest, rejuvenate and gently open and release tension physically, mentally and emotionally.

When we retreat, even for a short time, it enables us to gain new perspectives, unleash creativity and come back to life with more energy & clarity.

“Quiet your mind and you will hear whispers of Love emanating from your own soul”

Rest & Restore at Bealtaine ~ Welcoming Summer ~ Sunday April 28th, 2.30 – 4.30pm.

As spring transitions to summer it is the perfect time to take a pause to re- connect with our self’s and embrace the emerging summer energy around us and within!

Bealtaine was a big celebration in the Celtic Calendar, marked by fires and flowers and festivities, this was done in order to attune to the energy of this time of year, which is about, blossoming, fertility and becoming more alive. Our intention with this practice is  to awaken the body and mind, stretching into tight and stuck parts to lift the energy and bring space for brightness and positivity, rekindling your life force/prana.  We will practice some pranayma (breathing techniques) to assist with this.

This will be a deeply restful restorative/yin and  yoga nidra practice, using props and bolsters to allow for complete rest and relaxation, body, mind and soul.   You will be ready to bring on the summer!

Physiologically this type of practice takes us out of sympathetic nervous system dominance (stress) into parasympathetic dominance (rest and digest),  unless we do something to make this switch on a regular basis, we easily become overwhelmed and exhausted!

*Practice deep relaxation

*Retrain the nervous system

*Release muscular tension

Rest, Restore & Reset ~ Time Out For You ~ Sun March 24th 2.30 – 4.30pm

We will enjoy a  slow and relaxing yin and restorative yoga practice. We have long holds in poses supported with bolsters and props to ensure total comfort and ease, wrapped in cosy blankets. The practice will end with a lovely yoga nidra, also known as yogic sleep!

At this point of Spring Equinox day and night are of equal length, but not for long.  It’s a good time to focus our intention  on balance. Often we neglect to balance our “doing vs being”  and our life’s  become out of balance.   This workshop offers an opportunity  to address this.  It  is a time out to connect with and nourish ourselfs.  An opportunity to come into stillness  so that you can hear your inner wisdom.  A chance to rest deeply, rejuvenate and gently open and release deep held tension from body and mind.

Rest, Relax & Renew: Easing into the New Year – Sunday Jan 20th 1-3pm

The celtic wheel of the year reminds us that we are still in winter.  It is  still a time for rest & stillness.  For contemplation and taking stock, rather that action.  Honoring this  prepares us to feel more inspired and indeed healthy as the wheel turns and we come into Spring and onwards.  So if you have been too quick off the blocks this January and your body and mind are in need of some TLC and perhaps some grounding, this is the workshop or should I say rest shop for you!

With this practice  we have long holds in poses enabling the body to rid itself of deeply held stagnation and tension which accumulates more easily over the colder months.

This type of practice takes us out of sympathetic nervous system dominance (stress) into parasympathetic dominance (rest and digest), unless we do something to make this switch on a regular basis, we easily become overwhelmed and exhausted!  This workshop combines the most relaxing three practices within Yoga: Yin Yoga , Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra.
