Slow down & Go Within- Yin & Restorative Yoga, Sunday 12th June. 1-3pm.

Much of our modern living is overly scheduled and busy, with little emphasis on quiet time and introspection. Yin and restorative are 2 different but very complimentary yoga practices that allow us to slow down,  consciously release tension and come into the present moment.  On a physical level, Yin Yoga helps to remove deep held tension in not just muscle but into much deeper connective tissue, while also stimulating meridians to create balance and well-being. It is also a type of mindfulness practice.  Restorative Yoga invites us to come away from any effort and to deeply rest, using bolsters, and other prop’s to become completely comfortable. Bring your cosy socks, and we have nice warm blankets and eye pillows for this part!

Relaxation is something we must train the body to do; it is like a muscle that must be exercised.  Something we often forget to spend some time doing.Physiologically this type of practice takes us out of sympathetic nervous system dominance (stress) into parasympathetic dominance (rest and digest),  unless we do something to make this switch on a regular basis, we easily become overwhelmed and exhausted!

We will end the workshop with a Yoga Nidra, which is a deeply relaxing meditation.

Cost: €20

A 2 hour Yoga practice can be a great introduction if you are a beginner OR a chance to deepen the practice if you already attend classes.
