Mid-Summer Yoga to Rest, Relax & Renew July 7th 2.30 – 4.30pm.

Set yourself up for the week ahead.  Carve out some quality time for YOU, with no distractions.  A practice to bring awareness to body and breath, to unplug from the distractions and stimulation of everyday life.

This workshop combines the most relaxing three practices within Yoga:  Yin Yoga , Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. One practice flows into the other and the design and intention of the practice is to uplift and bring about a sense  of peace and wellness in body, mind and spirit. These are all different practices but each in their own way help us to experience letting go,  of tension, pain/ trauma and foster  a meditative state. When we combine these  practices together, well, let’s just say relaxation is pretty much guaranteed, and the feeling remains long after you leave the mat.

Physiologically this type of practice takes us out of sympathetic nervous system dominance (stress) into parasympathetic dominance (rest and digest), unless we do something to make this switch on a regular basis, we can easily become overwhelmed and exhausted. You will be carefully guided through deep slow stretching and breathing and gently encouraged to release stress on all level. In a nutshell, a practice to recharge your batteries!

Cost: €25

Venue: Seomra Shakti Yoga Studio, 19 Zone C, Mullingar Business Park, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, N91 N128

A 2 hour Yoga practice can be a great introduction if you are a beginner OR a chance to deepen the practice if you already attend classes.

Rest & Restore at Bealtaine ~ Welcoming Summer ~ Sunday April 28th, 2.30 – 4.30pm.

As spring transitions to summer it is the perfect time to take a pause to re- connect with our self’s and embrace the emerging summer energy around us and within!

Bealtaine was a big celebration in the Celtic Calendar, marked by fires and flowers and festivities, this was done in order to attune to the energy of this time of year, which is about, blossoming, fertility and becoming more alive. Our intention with this practice is  to awaken the body and mind, stretching into tight and stuck parts to lift the energy and bring space for brightness and positivity, rekindling your life force/prana.  We will practice some pranayma (breathing techniques) to assist with this.

This will be a deeply restful restorative/yin and  yoga nidra practice, using props and bolsters to allow for complete rest and relaxation, body, mind and soul.   You will be ready to bring on the summer!

Physiologically this type of practice takes us out of sympathetic nervous system dominance (stress) into parasympathetic dominance (rest and digest),  unless we do something to make this switch on a regular basis, we easily become overwhelmed and exhausted!

Rest, Relax & Renew: Easing into the New Year – Sunday Jan 20th 1-3pm

The celtic wheel of the year reminds us that we are still in winter.  It is  still a time for rest & stillness.  For contemplation and taking stock, rather that action.  Honoring this  prepares us to feel more inspired and indeed healthy as the wheel turns and we come into Spring and onwards.  So if you have been too quick off the blocks this January and your body and mind are in need of some TLC and perhaps some grounding, this is the workshop or should I say rest shop for you!

With this practice  we have long holds in poses enabling the body to rid itself of deeply held stagnation and tension which accumulates more easily over the colder months.

This type of practice takes us out of sympathetic nervous system dominance (stress) into parasympathetic dominance (rest and digest), unless we do something to make this switch on a regular basis, we easily become overwhelmed and exhausted!  This workshop combines the most relaxing three practices within Yoga: Yin Yoga , Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra.

Rest, Relax & Renew at Summer Solstice – Sunday June 24th 1-3pm.

These points on the Celtic wheel of the year invite us to step out of the everyday and check in with ourselves and become more present. Our yoga practice at this time can bring us into a more grounded, contemplative space and also help us become fully present to the summer light and energy.  This practice also helps to balance the more active/yang energy of summer.

A chance to carve out some quality time for YOU, with no distractions.  A practice to bring awareness to body and breath, to unplug from the distractions and stimulation of everyday life.

Become Present – Yoga for Grounding -1-3pm, Sunday 27th May 2018

The theme of this yoga practice is to bring us into the present moment.  Often we live very much in our minds, spending vast amounts of time  planning ahead or thinking back, this yoga practice can help us become more at peace by relaxing in to the here and now, otherwise we often miss the beauty in the present moment.

We will be working with the root chakra,  begining by feeling our physical connection to the ground, bringing our attention from the mind into the rest of our body.   When we are paying attention to the body the mind can begin to come into rest.  The idea of grounding is also a mental shift.  This practice helps us to realize we are not just our mind and egos, cultivates a sense of belonging and stabilises our energy.

In order to have harmony and balance and to make things happen and manifest in our lives, we must move energy downward and become grounded.  When we are not grounded we can become anxious, unsure, and exhausted.   This practice is an opportunity to ground ourselves, physically, mentally and emotionally.  It will include yoga, pranayama and end with restorative yoga, all designed to give you tool’s to  feel more cantered, present and relaxed.

Cost: €25

A 2 hour Yoga practice can be a great introduction if you are a beginner OR a chance to deepen the practice if you already attend classes.
